About the Archive
We are a small, ongoing effort to preserve the visual history of Las Vegas before it disappears for good.
Where We Started
This project grew out of a simple habit: photographing buildings around the valley that looked like they wouldn't be around much longer. Time after time, those hunches were right. The motels, signs, and casinos we shot ended up as rubble, and the photos became the only thing left.
What began as a personal collection became a mission to share. There are countless people who love old Las Vegas, who remember a sign or a lobby or a coffee shop that no longer exists. This archive is for all of them.
What We Do
We collect vintage and present-day photographs of Las Vegas and the surrounding valley, then organize them so the changes are easy to see. Some images come from our own cameras. Others are shared by neighbors, families, and travelers who admired this city over the past century.
Whenever possible we match an old photo to a new one taken from the same spot. That contrast tells the real story of how fast Las Vegas reinvents itself, and what it gives up to do so.
Add Your Memories
Our archive grows every time someone opens an old album. If you have photographs of a Las Vegas that no longer stands, we would be honored to help preserve them. Every picture adds another piece to the puzzle of this remarkable, restless city.
